I hope everyone is doing well and your dancers are enjoying their classes as we prepare for our recital titled When in doubt Dance it out.
Finally great news, our recital dates are booked! The venue is the Mount Dora Community Building @ 510 N Baker Street, Mount Dora FL 32757 or E 6th Ave.
Tech/Dress rehearsal is Saturday, June 1st. ACT 1 (which is mostly our younger dancers with a few older ones) please arrive by 9:30am, rehearsal begins promptly at 10am. ACT 2 please arrive by 11:30am, rehearsal begins promptly at 12pm. Our dance lineup will be available soon for everyone to determine which ACT(s) you will be in.
The first performance is Saturday, June 1st at 7pm, please arrive at 6pm. The second performance is Sunday, June 2nd at 2pm, please arrive at 1pm.
I realize some vacations have been booked, and I apologize for not being able to give you the recital dates earlier and for any inconvenience this has caused. If your dancer(s) is unable to attend the recital please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you.
Recital packets will be handed out beginning Monday, March 18th during your students’ first classes of the week. If you do not receive a white envelope containing recital information by March 25th, please notify the office as soon as possible. Please note the spelling of your dancer’s name on the front of the packet, this will be how it appears in the program and on the t-shirts. Let the office know as soon as possible if it is incorrect. These packets contain all the information pertaining to the recital. Please read through the entire packet and return the forms by the deadlines specified on each form. Note the main deadline is April 29th.
We at Leesburg Dance Centre love recital time and we hope dancers and their families will have a positive and enjoyable experience. We will kick-off our sale of recital tickets on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10am-12pm. All seating is reserved. Tickets will also be available after the kick-off during normal office hours. Tickets are $23 each in advance and $25 at the door.
Please mark your calendars for costume week. Costume week will be held during classes April 29-May 2, 2024. We ask that a parent or guardian please be present at these classes for instruction on dressing rooms, costumes, hair, and makeup. It is important that you or someone you trust with information be present during costume week. Costumes will go home with your dancer provided all costumes and tuition are paid in full. The costume book is now available in the office for viewing.

February 17 & 18, 2024… Awesome weekend at the Groove 2024 Dance Competition! I really enjoy watching our dancers grow a little more each time they take the stage.
Groove results were: Emily Sclafani’s solo -Diamond -2nd in category, Kaylin Atkinson, Emma Isom, & Brooke Mann’s trio -Diamond -1st in category, Invisible (Lyrical Group) -Diamond -1st in category. They also received a Standout Choreography Award, Trespassing (Jazz Group) -Diamond -3rd in category. This dance also received a Clever Concept Judge’s Pick, Makenna King’s solo -Diamond, Lily Mauriell’s solo -Diamond, Makenna & Lily’s duet -Diamond -3rd in category. Congratulations to Ariana Pisczek on her first competition. Next up for the team will be Expressions March 16 & 17, Shake the Ground April 12-14, and Earthshakers April 19-21.
Miss Sally is currently doing some choreography for Young Frankenstein at the Melon Patch.
Summer dance camps and intensive classes are tentatively scheduled for June 10-14 and July 15-19.
Just a reminder, it is extremely important for all our dancers to attend class on a regular basis. If you are unable to attend class, please notify the studio or teacher by phone, text, or email.
Fall registration will begin on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 4-7pm and continue Saturday, July 20th from 10am – 1pm. Classes will begin on Monday, August 5, 2024.
